Public motors is a fraudulent company. They got almost all of the money that I owed them and still have my title. I NEED TO FIND RICHARD COWAN TO SERVE HIM!!! Richard Cowan was listed on the Secretary of States website as the person to be held responsible. If anyone knows his whereabouts, please contact me asap. 619 622 **** These people at Public Motors are beyond scandelous, when I went to the dmv after my car was towed (due to p.m. not updating reg) I found out the car was not even registered to me, it was registered to a man and p.m. had never even began the reg. paperwork as per our contract. There are too many unethical things that P.M. has done to list. BEWARE OF PUBLIC MOTORS!!!!! PLEASE CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY INFO!!!!

Public Motors Fraudulent Practices

Purchased a truck which came with a 90 day or 3000 mile warranty. Transmission, Steering Bushings, Battery and electronic side view mirrors all failed before 2 months. We were told that their vehicles go through a complete maintenance check, so I am assuming that is another falsehood as the windshield wipers were also shredded. We have had the car repaired at a mechanic of our choice and were told we would be sent the information on how to get reimbursed through the warranty program. Over 15 phone calls, Facebook posts and their internet posts with no information forthcoming. Also, before we went there I called to see if we would be charged their auction fees and were told no. There were a number of add-on's to the contract including auction fees, etching window fees such as $80.00 Document Processing Charge, $50.00 Emissions Testing Charge, $399.00 Window Etching,$j29.00 Electronic Vehicle Registration Charge, $224.00 Registration, $8.25 State Emissions Certification Fee. Rip-off dealership and awful customer service. Would not recommend. After reading all the Yelp, Consumer Affairs, and Better Business Complaints you will not go there either.

I took my car for car for service. And the service sucked cause they lied to me saying that it was going to take long.

It took hours so they would check my car. My car was in the lot the whole. Once they took it in it took

also asks too many questions.

Like how are you to pay this car if you can't afford. I'm like excuse you that's none of your business.

Public Motors sold me a car knowing the transmission was leaking, no oil, bad brakes and driver door will not lock or unlock

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
When test driving I noticed the car had a knock when pulling off. I asked them to check mount etc.. They said they did a full inspection. My fiancé told me she smell a strong sent coming from the car. I checked the car, it had no oil, bad back brakes, transmission leaking fluids from the top hose and bottom of engine. If it was checked why all the issue one day after buying the car. Pissed right now since I have to figure out how to get to work while they have the car. I don't play and have a great Attorney so if its not fix PM will have problems.

Public Motors - 2006 Acura Rsx Review from Santa Ana, California

Public motors can not be trusted. They sell cars that have hidden problems that you will not notice until you sign all the paper work. All they want is your money and dont really care about you as a customer. My 06 rsx looks ok until you really looks in detail. So many problems. I wiah i can return it. But, their return policy is you CAN NOT return your car not even in less than 24hrs unless you agrain to pay them money upfront to have 7 days to return. that is dumb. DONT BUY. car from here, you will get rip off. No one will answer their phone or call you back even with you leaving more than 3 messages. This business is out to get your money. Go to CAR MAX.. you will get treated 200 times better.

Public Motors - Contract Charges Review from San Bernardino, California

Please don't buy cars, avoid all the problems that come with their cars and their management. They will charge you hidden cost in your contract and when it comes to car repairs they don't delivered what they promise. They will tell you that they will fix the cars if there is anything wrong with the cars such paint, motors, transmisson, etc and then they will ignore your calls and all the request to fix it. Please avoid the headaches and save your money and invested somewhere else. Don't buy their messed up cars.

Liars!!

I had to go to the BBB to get my complaint resolved, which it isn't completely. Case # 2003**** Los Angeles BBB Basically I agree with all of these negative reviews, they are liars, they hold money needed to be refunded for not good reason (which is why I had to involve the BBB), they sweet talk you then stab you in the back. By the way, the BBB got them to give me my refund the day Public Motors received something from them, so if you are having issue, I strongly recommend you contacting the BBB to get it resolved. I bought a car mid-April. My issue had to do with the autogap insurance which I was lied to about and told that the bank financing our car was requiring it. It was a $895 fee!!!!, which I found out later, the finance people working at the dealership make the profit from selling this Auto-gap policy. I was told I had 30 days to cancel and the money would be refunded within 90 days. I figured out the very next day after buying the car that we did not have to have this and complained and tried to cancel it. A 109 days later and only because I contacted the BBB did I actually get my refund. Sally, the customer service manager, curtly told me, after I found out this was an in house problem (refunding the money) as the contact was never submitted to the company that process the contracts and I was wondering why it wasn't expedited any since they lied to me about it, that "any refund takes 90 days". This outraged me because she was wrong - the cancellation form states, "MAY TAKE UP TO 90 days", which implies it could be sooner. But it definitely doesn't say, "90 days or until our accounting department gets around to it!!" -- seeing as it ended up being 109 days! And there is something wrong with signing a contract (the Autogap contract) that states that a customer should receive a refund in 60 days, but then Public Motors choose to make it 90. I was also upset that I had to pay interest on this $895 for 4 1/2 months, so BK the general manager told me (and apparently Sally had never told him I had any type of complaint until this point 4 months later) that they would refund me the $16.20 in interest and give me a free tank of gas or refund me an oil change as an apology. I closed my complaint with the BBB because Public motors had refunded the Auto-Gap and *was going to pay me* the interest I accrued on my account which I had asked for from them (and give me a tank of gas as an apology, which I didn't ask for). So therefore I was going to be satisfied. However, when I submitted my tank of gas for a refund (which they were going to pay me for with the interest I was promised) they are telling me now that they will not pay me unless I sign something with them which says, among other things, "I, my name, purchased a vehicle from Public Motors, had a dispute and Public Motors resolved it. I am very satisfied with the way Public Motors handled the transaction. I agree not to discuss this settlement or to slander or disparage Public Motors at any time, either verbally or in writing, or by any communication on the internet." I refuse to sign anything that say that as I am "very satisfied with the way Public Motors handled the transaction" - a matter that is only semi-resolved and only because I involved the BBB. And I do not want to remove anything I have written about this company because it's truth (not slander or disparaging) and others should know what they did by having a record of it on the BBB or other places that asks for reviews of the company. I am very sure I am not the only one who this has happened to - others just probably never questioned the extra cost or thought it was necessary as well. As a result of signing the form they sent me I would have to agree to remove the google review that I did on their company as well as this complaint. So the way I look at it, they told me they would pay me the $16 and offered me a tank of gas, not as an apology, but rather as a way to shut me up. When I wrote and asked Sally about it, saying that no one told me at any point that I would need to sign something like this, she told me it was a generic form they use as a settlement agreement. If that is the case, they should have told me I was going to have to sign something like that, but 2 phone calls from the general manager and several emails back and forth with the customer service manager and no one said a word. I asked her to have BK, the general manager, call me to discuss this further. That was a week ago and no one has called me to discuss this. I can only conclude that they do not want to completely fix this situation of my husband and I being lied to by several people in their company, most directly the finance manager. That is very poor customer service on their part. Read carefully all these reviews listed here and don't buy a car from here!!

2004 Jeep precertified my ***

Like the previous complaints before me the car was in the shop and they had it 3 weeks without any repairs done. There is no way they certified our vehicle due to the fact that none of the vehicle recalls had been done. I know this from previous JEEP DEALERSHIP EXP. I was a certified jeep tech for 7 years. WE brought it in for a check engine light problem and all they did was reset the light we now have a broken down jeep, blown head gasket and a very rough idle at all speeds. we need to take this dealership down. You were a certified jeep mechanic for 7 years and you could not troubleshoot or diagnose the problem prior to taking to the dealer so you coud have a 2nd opinion. If your a jeep mechanic why not fix your self as you have 7 years experience and if you were indeed a mechanic I am sure you have tools.

You purchased a used vehicle and now are whining because its broke down. If you do not have a OBD II scanner you could of went to any auto zone for a free CEL reading. Also you could of got the VIN # and went online to see if the vehicle had any recalls and when and if they were repaired.

You should know all this basic knowledge if you were a dealer technician. :eek

Was sold a lemon and they have had it for 6 weeks for repairs

PM intentionally concealed rear license to hide a 2011 registration tag. The car was not sold "as is" and had undergone a pre owned certification process. That never took place and after driving the car for a short time it became obvious it was in a state of disrepair! When I went to pick up the car after 4 WEEKS being in PM's shop I discovered that several of the repairs the alleged to have done were NOT done. I had to leave the car for another 2 WEEKS and will soon find out if they have repaired it properly? Also, I was sold an extended service contract that they have charged my credit card 4 months of installment payments and a 300.00 down payment at the time of purchase and the company who underwrites the contract does not have any contract under my mane or the VIN # of the car. This company needs to be put out of business!! There are more than enough valid complaints from people who've been ripped off by this company, why hasn't the agencies that police car dealerships taken action against this company?? Something must be done before more innocent people get taken by this company!! There's strength in numbers, so lets get together and close their doors!!

Public Motors ripped us off for $10,892.52

Two months ago these people stoll $10,892.52 from us for a wreck of a car I never took possesion of & won't give the moneyback to us ! Two weeks ago they told me the check would be at my house in a couple of days & still no check. When I call all I get is an answer machine. They never call back. It's one lie after another with these people, they are so dishonest. Don't ever go to this place. There cars are junk, lemons, way overpriced & there 90 day warranty is a nightmare, they don't answer there phone in costomer service or anywhere else. Also, they pretend to be an auction but I never bid with anyone else. I guess I'm going to the Law for help. They won't give us our money back. JTH

I also bought a car from them within a month the check engine light came on.Took it to a mechanic and he told me it was the secondary air valve and that this car should have passed the smog test.Call them for weeks with no response, kept leaving messages and nobody would return them, finally I spoke with a manger and he said that that was not covered under there 3 month warranty. By this time my is about to expire and I keep trying to have them fix it and nothing.

Now that I am fixing the car it turns out that the needs the heads replaced, water pump, thermostat, and timing belt all need changing.. I am also seeking legal action..

I have filed a report with DMV and consumer affairs also to anyone that will listen.. These people need to be puy out of business.

Guest

I'm thinking of seeking legal action also. They made lots of claim on the vehicle I purchased and after the second day, it had trouble starting up.

To add to that, they claim that all their vehicles has never been into any accidents with a clean carfax. They failed to give me the carfax!!! Also, when I called and actually got a hold of someone, they told me the 90 or 3000 mile warranty dosn't cover transmission and mechanical problems. I've left numerous messages and no one ever return my calls.

I hope one day, there will be a class lawsuit to these lying bags of ***. After doing much research, there is quite a bit of unhappy consumers with Public Motors. They are *** artists and needs to be put out of business. They prey on desperate, poor credit, and vunerable people.

They are thieves and have no sympathy. One of the sellers there, some European guy even said some bull about one of the vehicles going up to 500,000 miles?!! Really? Do I have *** written across my forehead?

Apparently I do since I bought a car from them. Let me know how your case goes if you plan on seeking legal action, as I stated earlier, I've been contemplating it myself.

But want to make sure I have a case, a good solid case, and I wished I would've recorded all the jargon they told me in regards to the vehicles condition and their warranty. My case would be rock solid and I wouldn't hesitate to file a suit against this sham of a business

Guest

They're terrible people. Mouth full of lies and lot full of lemons. They're 30000 warranty is a complete joke.

Public motors complaint

My name is Liz and I purchase a car from public motors a moth a go When I purchase the car I specificity ask the sales man that I would get The car if they fix the navigation, he said no problem will fix it, when I was Signing the contract ask a gain to the finance department(jesse) I will purchase If you will fix the negation, again his response was no problem. A week after I purchase the car I call to make an appointment left a lot of voice mail with no call back When they finally call me so I can make appointment took the car and they had the car for a week couldn't find anything, took the car two more times until they finally said you need a new navigation sorry, and spoke to BK a general manager from sales department which was really abusive and said sorry I didn't promise you anything and will not fix my navegation. That company it's the worse in every way. I will make sure I take this to the news so other people will not get abuse and lie to like I was. I want to make sure it's public so it doesn't happen to any one else.

Public Motors: SCAM RIPOFF

I would give this scam operation no stars if it were an option. They flat out lie and then verbally abuse you if you do not buy a car from them. Their cars are seriously overpriced and their model seems to be bait and switch. You will not find any cars on their website actually on their lot. Oh, and MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE BACK from the sales guy. I was so upset over the verbal abuse - plus I actually had to yank my hand out of his when I was trying to leave, he was holding on to it continuing to harangue me - I fled the office without getting my license. Despite the fact I was there for an hour and he never voluntarily gave it back to me - nor did they even attempt to call me all day while they still had it. I suspect this is one of their "sales" tactics. So I had to return to get it. They refused to mail it to me. STAY AWAY from them.
